Parks in Focus is full of firsts. First-time exploration of celebrated parks, first-time hikes along famous trails, first-time meals cooked over
a fire, and first-time lessons about the plants and animals encountered along the way. We want to make sure those first-time experiences are as fun and as safe
as possible, so we hire some of the most well-trained, passionate, caring adults to lead, guide, and support our youth along the way.
Udall scholarship alumni coordinate PIF trips.
With over 1,000 Udall Scholars to date, many of whom share a passion for environmental education, the natural world, and public service, we have been able to
create a partnership between two of the Foundation’s programs by hiring and training scholarship alumni to lead Parks in Focus trips.
The Foundation counts on alumni coordinators to take the Parks in Focus model and use their creativity to develop cohesive trip plans, fun lessons, games, and
activities. Alumni are perfectly suited for leading Parks in Focus trips because of their backgrounds, experience, and passion. Because of who they are, we are
able to harness their energy, provide leadership training, and further build the Udall community. Alumni have several opportunities to get involved with the
program, and we will highlight all of our trip leaders here. Click on the thumbnails to view full bios.
