Parks in Focus partners with youth organizations and caring adult volunteers to deliver hands-on, educational programming to underserved middle-schoolers in Tucson, Arizona and beyond.
Our goals are to:
- Encourage the use, enjoyment, and stewardship of public lands;
- Help youth expand their ecological knowledge and critical thinking skills;
- Provide opportunities to practice creativity and build self-confidence; and
- Allow new voices to be heard so impacts can be magnified.
We offer year-round programming that includes after-school activities, Saturday field trips, weekend campouts, family involvement, and an intensive summer session of week-long camping trips to northern Arizona and Grand Canyon National Park. Additional summer immersion trips, pilot projects, and advanced alumni trips are implemented across the country when funding allows.
